1. Catherine Falls

Falling down from 250 feet, the staggering Catherine Falls is a twofold fell cascade situated at Aravenu. The River Kallar slips down the stones as Geddhehaada Halla stream, to frame the Catherine Falls. Otherwise called Geddhehaada Halla by local people, this cascade is named after Catherine Cocburn, the spouse of M.D. Cocburn, who had acquainted espresso estate with the zones of Kotagiri and Yercaud. Surrounded by an amazing view of the forests and Mettupalayam plains, Catherine Falls is definitely one of the most popular places to visit in Coonoor. 

 

 

2. Droog Fort

The Droog Fort is situated approximately 15kms from the foothills of the Nilgiris. There are many legends related to this fort which is believed by the locals over there. Reaching Droog Fort requires a good amount of trekking and physical exertion to reach the top of the mountain. This amazing place to visit in Coonoor is said to be built by Tipu Sultan and has underground tunnels to Mysore palace for the kings to escape in case of emergency or war. 

 

3. St. George’s Church

Built during the British rule in India, St. George's Church represents one of the Gothic Structures which makes it a famous tourist place to visit in Coonoor. 3. Go To The Lady Canning’s Seat

Lady Canning's Seat is located about 9km far from Coonoor. It is one of the old chateaus. It is one of the vacationer places in Coonoor. It's named after the companion of the British Viceroy, Charlotte Canning. It gives an excellent view of the valleys and the mountains that are surrounding this place. Coonoor is located approximately 19 km far from its sister ridge Ooty. This uneven Indian wide open was set up to use the tea estates around Nilgiri Hills that delivers a dazzling tea.
