Water is essential, it is the only drink that suffices all the needs of your body. We all know the importance of drinking 8-10 glasses of water each day but let's get real and confess that we do not complete that amount. This leaves our body dehydrated and feeling parched. A lot of us do not like drinking regular water as it can get pretty boring. What if, we tell you that we have a solution. Detox drinks are your saviour. As the name suggests, these drinks will not only hydrate you but also help detoxify all the bad toxins from your system and help improve your immunity and digestion. Not only this but there are tons of other health benefits that you can achieve by the intake of these detox drinks. So head to your kitchen as we present to you a list of detox drinks with its recipes and their respective benefits. 


Cucumber And Lemon


  • 1  cup cucumber
  • 1 lemon

Take a mason jar or a glass bottle. Add chopped cucumber and lemon slices. Chilled water, shake well. Leave it for 2-3 hours.

Benefits: Cucumber helps in flushing out toxins from our system. Lemon is rich in vitamin C and helps in cutting down extra fat from the body. 



Strawberry, Lime and Cucumber


  • 1 cup strawberries
  • 1/2 lime 
  • 1 cup cucumber 

In a glass jar, add chopped strawberries, chopped cucumber, lime slices, a few mint leaves. Add water to this mixture and top it off with tons of ice. Leave for 2-3 hours. 

Benefits: Strawberries are rich in vitamin C, manganese and fibre. It has anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. Lime helps with digestion and gastritis. 




Berry Blast


  • 1 cup strawberries
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • Mint sprigs

To a glass jug, add chopped strawberries, blueberries and mint leaves. Add chilled water and leave for a few hours. 

Benefits: Strawberries are rich in antioxidants. They help to regulate blood sugar levels and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. Blueberries help maintain blood sugar levels. 



Honey, Lemon And Ginger


  • 1/2 Lemon  
  • 1-inch ginger root 
  • 1 tbsp honey 

Boil 2 cups of water. Add lemon juice, grate some ginger and let it come to a boil. Pour the mixture into a cup. Add 1tbsp of honey and mix well. Your detox tea is ready to drink. 

Benefits: Honey is rich in calcium, potassium, manganese and zinc. Ginger has anti-inflammatory and soothing properties. It also helps in digestion. 



Watermelon And Mint


  • 1cup Watermelon 
  • Mint sprigs

This one is super easy and quick. Add chopped watermelon and a few mint leaves to chilled water. Leave for 15-20 mins. Ready to be served chilled. 

Benefits: Watermelon reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Mint contains cooling properties and adds freshness to the drink.



Green Tea And Lemon


  • 1 green tea bag
  • 1/4th lemon   

Boil a cup of water. Add 1 tbsp of green tea leaves or dunk in that green tea bag for a quick fix. Add lemon juice. Drink it while it's still warm. 

Benefits: Green tea boosts your immunity and helps in weight loss. Lemon adds a citrus flavour to the otherwise bland green tea. 




Lemon And Mint


  • 1 Lemon 
  • Mint sprigs

Grab a glass bottle. Fill it up with chilled water. Add lemon slices and mint leaves. Let it rest for 30 mins. 

Benefits: Lemon helps in flushing out toxins. It is rich in vitamin C and adds a zest to plain and simple water. Mint resolves stomach issues and adds freshness to the mixture. 



Strawberry And Kiwi


  • 1 cup strawberries 
  • 1 cup kiwi
  • Mint sprigs

Take a glass jar and fill it up with chilled water. Cut some strawberries and kiwi into small cubes. Add it to the glass jar along with some mint leaves and lots of ice. 

Benefits: Strawberries have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It also helps in regulating blood sugar levels. Kiwi is a good source of vitamin C. It controls blood sugar levels and reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases.



Grape Fruit, Orange and Lime


  • 1cup Grape Fruit
  • 1 Lime
  • 1/2 cup cucumber 
  • 1/2 cup orange
  • Mint sprigs 

Grab a glass jug and add chilled water to it. Cut oranges and grapefruit into wedges. Thinly slice the lime. Chop the cucumber into tiny slices. Add all the ingredients to the glass jar along with a few mint leaves. 

Benefits: Grapefruit helps in weight reduction by improving insulin levels. Oranges are rich in vitamin C and help in controlling blood sugar levels. Cucumber helps to flush out toxins and rehydrates the cells.



Aloe Vera And Lemon


  • 1 aloe vera leaf
  • 1 lemon

Take an aloe vera leaf, and wash it under running water. Cut into small pieces. Slice away the peel and store the gel in a cup. Slice a lemon into thin and fine slices. Add these ingredients to a mason jar. Fill it up with water and ice. Let it sit for 30 mins.

Benefits: Aloe vera contains a host of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and amino acids. It has antibacterial properties, improves digestion, prevents skin diseases and mouth ulcers, aids weight loss, and lowers the blood sugar levels. Lemon helps in cutting down extra body fat by helping in mobilizing bile from the liver to the small intestine.
