The word tacos roughly mean "light lunch" which is ironic considering how you can-NOT be done with just one or two in a single go. I for one can keep going until I am full and I'd still be craving for more. Now I am all crazy about other Mexican dishes as well but tacos are like that messy-potamian haven where I tend to visit at least once a month. 

Picture it. A crunchy corn tortilla stuffed with lettuce, beans, sauces, sour cream, your fav fillings and the showstopper; guacamole. With every bite, you drop something but you gain all the love this dish has to offer. But don't stop there, pick those missed-out pieces and devour them with your own bare hands. That's how the creators would've wanted you to eat.

Whacko Tacos

Sammy Sosa is a casual dining place with a lot to offer. Besides the quirky interior, full-on Mexican vibes & alcohol, they have an elaborate menu for all kinds of world cuisine along with a separate make your own option for a lot of their dishes. Now that also includes our favourite... Tacos. When a hard shell relished with beans, lettuce, salsa dip (made from scratch), Mexican seasonings, cheddar cheese (of course) is finally made whole with your choice of filling, it amps up the entire fun. Now, from chilli beans to spicy habaneros to shredded chicken and more... these guys have a lot to quote under this section as well. So, enjoy. Also, other than tacos you can even give Mexi Skin, a fancy potato skin dish a whirl.

A single portion delivered to you holds 3 crispy hardshell tacos which other than your favourite fillings are brimming with black beans, sauces, lettuce, sour cream, cheese and guacamole (extra). If not tacos, the base can vary from burrito to burrito bowl and salad. A single-serve works fine only if you're not that hungry.

Fajita Veggies Taco, Mushroom Tacos

Mexican Express is vegetarian heaven with cosy ambience, spectacular Mexican dishes and exquisite presentation. The place is known to serve two different kinds of taco shells; hard and soft. Both of them are to be enjoyed with salsa sauces, cheese blend, salad, guacamole and lip-smacking fillings. To list a few... fajita veggies, mushroom, potato, cottage cheese and so on. Now, the seating at the restaurant is quite limited but the vibes are very food-centric. So, to enjoy more, pick up your order or get it delivered, until times are safe to eat outside.

Crunchy Tacos

As the name suggests, this place specializes in gourmet food and delightful desserts. And that being said, their Tex Mex menu is no less. Under many-many Mexican options there lie Crunchy tacos - equivalently yummy and enough to satiate your hunger (and cravings). It's one of the most-talked-about vegetarian restaurants in Mumbai and now I understand why. But before you agree with me, take a look at the filling in their signature taco (which BTW is served with assorted dipping sauces) - Mexican beans, fresh tomato salsa, sour cream, shredded lettuce, cheese, jalapeno and black olives. If you still haven't checked it out, do it now. Take your parents along for a nice dinner. They might love it even more since the place is a value for money deal.

Mushroom Soft Shell Tacos, Chipotle Chicken Tacos, Beef Tacos

Only available for delivery, the places serves one of the best soft-shell tacos in Mumbai. The best part is, you can get your own taco made and that's good because Loca Lucho offers a good variety of filling options including beef. And if you're a pure vegetarian, don't worry because they have a separate Jain Menu which is requisite too. What I like the most, for now, is how safe and sustainable their food packaging is. It shows that they care for us and the environment.

Crispy Tacos

From their ambience to the menu; the place reeks of fancy from a mile away. But if you're specifically looking for Tacos (I mean, that's why you're probably reading this) you'll find it in the Mexicano section of the menu. I admit there's less variety to this wholesome food we're talking but the one they serve is heavenly too, despite the fact that it's a vegetarian restaurant. With iceberg lettuce, creams, refried beans, shredded veggies and yellow cheese as superlative filling and spicy tomato salsa, sour cream and guacamole as accompaniment, Quesso Ristorante is well-aware of what people want and I really like that. Along with other mouth-watering delicacies, the restaurant also serves alcohol and is a nice place for office-gatherings. Don't forget to take a quick gander of their semi-outdoor seatings. It's actually really nice and soothing.

Lamb Tacos

I realise the variety of food served here is very uneven but the good part is, I found one of the best tacos in Mumbai. You're welcome. Now, our recommended taco is the only one kind that you'll find here but there's a twist. The taco shell in itself is a Chilli con Carne stuffing and for the elemental filling, there's goat cheese, caramelized onion and lamb. You should only visit Canto Cafe & Bar for tacos if you're a culinary explorer. Other than this, the cafe is bursting with good vibes, good music and yummy cocktails and mocktails. It's a wonderful place for a dinner date too. But if you're date like Mexican food, don't forget to tell them how great their tacos are.

Korean BBQ Beef Tacos

The menu at The Table is strategically separated by the time & the meal of the day, i.e., Brunch, Lunch & Dinner. So, for lunch, there's Korean BBQ Beef Tacos (this includes... Kimchi, scallions, mung sprouts and horseradish sauce), Grilled Shrimp/Fish Tacos (this includes...chili lime mayo, marinated cabbage, cilantro & onions) and Mexican Bean Taco (which has a filling of charred broccoli & corn guacamole, cheddar, crema and salad) and for the dinner is concerned it's Mexican Bean Taco. Now, everything here is a bit expensive but the food is full of flavours. Once in two-months wouldn't make a hole in your pocket. Take your girlfriend/boyfriend for a fancy intimate date here and make them try some yummy tacos.
